Greetings, I noticed a reference to DOG FACES in the STORM FRONT VEHICLES Guide but not on the website. Is it available for purchase at this time? Please let know either way when you have a moment.
DOG FACES: Minature Rules for Squad Level World War II combat has been completed, but has not been released yet. Look for Dog Faces coming soon!
Comments About Our New Release: Storm Front Vehicles

Even for a supplement, this is a great price!
The cover art for this line pulls me in… expecting quirky and exotic space opera… but then I wonder what minis I'd use to play it that would match that image. All I can think of is Eldar… maybe Tau… Necrons as the bad guys… Really, I think I just want a model of those landing craft in the background…
I realized it's very anime and those pricey Infinity minis would fit real well…
Some fun goodies in this book.
I'm rather looking forward to this book. And it's nice not having to shell out cash for "their" vehicles and use whatever you want. I think that is one of the strong points for this system. The Mongoose and AT-43 prepainted stuff works well.
Cool! Now to find the right minis…
I am confused…what does this all mean? They are making vehicles, selling vehicles, they like vehicles?
Rules for vehicles, based on their previous releases and a request here a couple months ago.
She's riding that hover-death-thing side-saddle. How lady-like!
Questions About Our New Release: DOG FACES

Thank you for the email. Here are the answers to your question:
Q) Can machine gun crews be attacked normally by mortars & field artillery which are not in base to base contact with the MG crew? A) Yes

Q) I did not see any rules for machine gun jamming/breakdowns/repairs. Is this considered to be outside the scope of the rules? A) There are no specific rules for jamming and breakdown. Machine guns are used to add to the over all AFFECT and AMOUNT of fire power units possess.

Q)What is the logic behind allowing reaction fire for a just destroyed target? To me, this sort of defeats the purpose of winning the initiative because your guy is going to get to fire anyways, even if I shoot him first.
A) Reaction fire is used as a balancing point. If the Initiative players could merely attack targets without the chance of being damaged, then the game would break down to nothing more than a battle for Initiative and nothing more. But real combat is much more complicated than that, fire is flying around all over. Real battles are not broken down into you shoot, me shoot, you shoot, me shoot....combat occurs simultaneously the attacking unit is exposing themselves to fire while attacking this had to be part of the combat so players would have to prioritize targets.

Q)In action four, the winner of the initiative selects one figure or AFV to move and/or fire. Then the initiative loser does the same with one of his figures or AFVs. The actions alternate like this until both players have nothing else that they can do. Is this correct? It did not seem to be totally clear to me from reading the rules, but it's the only thing that I could conceive that makes the Gut Check mechanism make sense. I think that this could have been worded better, or you could have included an example of play that explains it clearly.
A) No, the initiative player activates all their units then the loser of the initiative roll activates all their units. Only units that have CPs spent on them can be activated. *Reaction fire is the mechanism for the GUT CHECK on the attacker.

Q)What is the German gut check no. for scenario 9?
A) GUT CHECK 10

Q)Targets in or at the edge of a forest cannot be fired at by any figures that are not in base to base contact with them. I assume that mortars & artillery can fire on them normally? If these units in forests have not fired at anything yet during the game, are they placed on the table & considered to be spotted from the start of the game? I did not notice any special spotting rules anywhere (other than the base to base contact mechanic).
A) Mortars and Artillery do not require a Line-of-Sight to their target(s) this includes target(s) in forests or on the edge of forests.

Q)Has anyone developed a points system for generating forces for pick-up games? This would be really nice.
A) No point system was included for Dog Faces, the game was designed to be scenario based. Our play testers told us that with a few games under their belt they could design battles very well without a point system. We agreed. Combat during WWII was 'come as you are' there were no perfect formulas which fit every situation. A point system would allow just that, so experiment with different force combination and have fun!
